How to Find Book in Library via OPAC

OPAC (ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG)   

  • This UNISHMAS Library Guide aims to help users how to find library resources via OPAC.

  • OPAC is UNISHAMS Library's catalog for books, articles, media and more.

  • The function is to locate book or materials in library. 

STEP TO USE OPAC : 

The Online Public Access Cataloguing (OPAC) allows a user to search the library collection quickly and easily. To conduct OPAC searches, follow these easy steps:

  • Enter UniSHAMS library portal and click the 'Resources' button. 

  • Click the button Web OPAC through the library portal to access OPAC. 

  • Enter the student or staff ID. Example (M1234567).

  • Enter the user password.

  • Click log in. 

  • Enter all part of a word or phrase in the search box. Click the “Title” button for the title search, the “Author” button for the author search, and the “Subject” button for subject search.

  • Wait for your search results to appear on the screen.

  • From the selection list of the search results, Choose an item  and double click it, or highlight it and click “select” button to search more about the item.

  • The records of an item will appear showing the Title Information Box containing the bibliographic data of the item; and the copy Information Box containing the call number, status, number of copies and the location of the item.

  • Note down the call number of the item. Go to the collection/location where the material is and check out the material in the nearest circulation desk.
